Interpretación radical y holismo semántico

Abstract

In this article, I intend to show that the Davidsonean defense of attribution holism implies, by virtue of certain assumptions of the theory of radical interpretation, a defense of semantic holism. The paper is divided into three main parts. First of all, I introduce the main different conceptions of both semantic holism and localism. Then, I present what I take to be the main theses of Davidson's semantic theory, in order to point to the significant role played by the holistic constraint. Finally, I conclude that the theory in question may be considered a clear instance not only of attribution holism but mainly of semantic holism.
