dc.descriptionThe rapid development of air transportation in Spain has been one of the most characteristic elements of the recent evolution of the Spanish transportation system. An increase in passenger traffic occurred in the context of an economic boom and the deregulation and liberalization of the air transportation market. However, after several years of economic and financial crisis, there has been a sharp decline in the movement of passengers, mainly caused by the weakness of internal and domestic traffic. Nevertheless, due to a complex and complicated market in terms of spatial organization, decreases in traffic have affected different airports to a different extent. The main objective of this research has been to analyze the scope of the decline in air traffic passengers and its causes, effects and consequences, for the whole of the Spanish territory as well as in the different centers of the airport system. en-US
dc.descriptionEl rápido desarrollo del transporte aéreo en España ha sido uno de los elementos más característicos de la evolución reciente del sistema español de transporte. En buena medida se produce en el contexto de bonanza económica y durante los últimos lustros de desregulación y liberalización del mercado aéreo. Recientemente, tras varios años de crisis económica y financiera, se registra un acusado descenso del movimiento de pasajeros, causado principalmente por el debilitamiento del tráfico interior o doméstico. Ahora bien, al tratarse de un mercado complejo y complicado en su organización espacial, la reducción del tráfico afecta de forma dispar a los diferentes aeropuertos. El objetivo central de esta investigación es analizar la dimensión del descenso del tráfico aéreo de pasajeros, sus causas, efectos y consecuencias, tanto para el conjunto del territorio español, como en los diferentes centros del sistema aeroportuario. es-ES
