Un análisis del concepto sociedad de la información desde el enfoque histórico

Abstract

Se propone distinguir diferentes tipos históricos de sociedades de acuerdo a la forma en que la información se produce, fluye, se consume y el modo como aparece, influye y se reflexiona sobre ella. Se subraya el papel de cinco condiciones y características (dinámica y cambio de la vida social, globalización, mercado liberal, avances tecnológicos y elevado nivel socio-económico) en la aparición y funcionamiento de la sociedad de la información. Se analiza desde el humanismo los alcances y limitaciones de ese nuevo tipo de organización social.It is proposed to distinguish among different historic types of societ-ies, according to the form in which the information is produced, flows, is con-sumed, and to the way it appears, has influence on, and is thought about. Therole of five conditions and characteristics (social life dynamics and changes,globalization, liberal market, technological advances, and high socio-economiclevel) on the occurrence and performance of the information society is empha-sized.
