Abstract

Egypt and the trade routes with the south for prestige goods: the aromatic products. The supply of aromatic products (resins, spices), particularly for the use in the state temples, the funerary cult and in medical prescriptions was carried on by the state since the earliest times, through its own agents -state officials-, diverse intermediaries and different trade routes. Changing political conditions in the south accompanied this important and continuous exchange.
