O paradoxo do limite e da potencialidade da mente frente a Deus: pequena reflexão a partir de Nicolau de Cusa

Abstract

This article aims to expose the debate about the dynamism of the search for absolute truth (God) as from on the Nicholas of Cusa’s philosophy (1401-1464). More than thinking in the existence or not of God, a recurring and central theme in the Philosophy of the Middle Ages, the German philosopher was concerned a about the possibility of his knowledge. Therefore, in this text, our effort is to make explicit the nuances and dynamism present in Nicholas’s thinking, from the presupposition of nulla proportio between the human mind that is finite and the absolute truth that is infinite.

O presente artigo tem por objetivo expor o debate acerca do dinamismo da busca pela verdade absoluta (Deus) a partir da filosofia de Nicolau de Cusa (1401-1464). Mais que pensar sobre a existência ou não de Deus, tema recorrente e central na Filosofia da Idade Média, o filósofo alemão encontrava-se preocupado com a possibilidade do seu conhecimento. Portanto, nesse texto, nosso esforço é explicitar as nuances e o dinamismo presente no pensamento de Nicolau a partir do pressuposto da nulla proportio entre a mente humana que é finita e a verdade absoluta que é infinita.
